FAQ

The short version of how the depot works. If your question isn't here, get in touch and a real person will sort you out.

Who can rent from the depot?

Rentals are for approved members: production companies and crews working in Ontario film and TV. Anyone can browse the inventory, donate materials, or get in touch, no account needed.

How do I become a member?

Sign up with your production company details. Our team reviews every application before approving it, so your account will show as pending at first. Once you are approved, you can start submitting rental requests and purchasing items directly through the site.

How does renting work?

Browse the inventory, add what you need to your cart, and submit a request with your pickup dates. We review it, confirm everything is on the shelf, and book your pickup appointment at the depot.

How much does it cost?

Every item lists its own rental rate per week, and purchase price. All rentals and purchases are subject to HST.

Do I need an appointment to visit?

Yes. Pickups, returns, and drop-offs all run on scheduled appointments, so it's very important to update us if you are running late for your appointment.

Can I donate without an account?

Absolutely. Drop-off requests are open to everyone, no login required. The form lists the material types we take. Pick what you have from that list, and we will review the request and book a time for you to bring it in.

What materials do you accept?

Flats, Jacks, Whalers, TJIs, Backdrops, Subfloor and Doors. The donate page lists the sizes and types we carry. We review every drop-off line by line and catalogue what we can put back on the shelves.

What if my materials are not on that list?

Post them On the Board. It is a message board inside the depot where approved members offer construction materials we do not take into the warehouse - odd-size flats, lumber, hardware, whatever is left at wrap - to other productions, picked up directly from the poster. It is for members only, so sign in or create an account, then look for On the Board in the Depot.

What if something gets damaged during my rental?

Just tell us when you return it. We check condition on every return, and honest wear happens on working sets. We would much rather know than find out later.
